DRAFT … in progress … done.

‘Facebook Memories:  25 Jan 2024’
(25 Jan 2024)

*

Dear Reader:

Preface.

Suck is gone mad – touched mad – deleting posts throughout Faceplop, anything that presents ideology that he opposes.

Notice on posts at my Faceplop page that Suck deleted the URL links and posts that reference to my Faceplop page:

**
This content isn’t available right now
When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.
**

Here are today’s Faceplop Memories of this date at prior years, with selected narrative.

Fear not, Dear Reader.  I continue posting current original compositions – I have countless ideas about topics that I have never discussed here or not commented in depth.  Posting these recent ‘Memories’ allows me to catch up to what past essays I missed posting here concurrent with Faceplop posts.

 – Sharon

A look at Global Warming from inside the Heat Island of Phoenix, Arizona.

This was 3pm today. The high temperature was forecasted for the 50s. The 3pm temperature was 36F. Brrr!

This morning’s weather bunnies forecasted snow only down to 2000 ft elevation. Surrounding communities as Cave Creek and Carefree are at that elevation.

Phoenix is about 1100 ft elevation.

Too bad there is heavy overcast. The dusting of snow at Camelback Mountain, Four Peaks, Superstition Mountains, etc., must look wonderful.

This will probably be enough snow for the next few years.

Crazy Phoenix weather.

We had this snow inside the ‘Heat Island’ at Phoenix, Arizona, in 2021.

We had 70s last year.

It’s cold again this year, 2023.

At that pattern, we’ll be back to 70s next year, 2024.

PBS broadcast this episode of ‘We’ll Meet Again’ recently:

 – ‘We are living in the future that we helpt to make.’

 – – Sonia Johnson (PBS ‘We’ll Meet Again’)

That episode brought back memories of my days working for Feminist and Equal Rights causes and campaigning for the ERA during the 1970s and 1980s:

 – I participated in marches and protests at LDS Temple Square during the 1980s.

 – I gave a speech at the Utah State Capitol.

 – I participated in Citizens Day with my Utah state legislator.

 – KDYL interviewed me in my position as an officer of a Feminist organisation.

I remember, one time, when we protested during the semi-annual LDS Conference. We had so many participants that we all held hands as we completely encircled the entire Temple Square city block.

I proudly wore both my purple sash and my ERA medallion to these activities. I took pictures and movies of our events. I have a personal collection of our rally posters.

Somewhere in the files at the Utah State Historical Society lie documents with our names on them (well, Nick’s name for me) where they are collecting dust unless someone takes time to read through them, become inspired by the work that we accomplished. Please! Don’t allow our efforts to pass in vain.

My activism added to my hot water with the Forest Service – my agency and management knew about me, about my membership in three Femininist organisations. I certainly complied with the laws imposed upon federal government employees, not taking any chance for them to make my circumstances worse.

I received an invitation to attend the 1984 presidential campaign speeches by both Mondale and Reagan at the Salt Palace. I attended the Mondale speech; I made home movies of that. Then I promptly joined the protesters when it came time for Reagan; more photography and home movies.

That was a situation that tweeked some agency brown noses. Turns out that no one among the Reagan team bothered issuing invitations to my agency’s upper-crust political appointee management. Those officers expressed their outrage at little ol’ me – envious that I had my invitation and they had none.

Also during campaign 1984, I met Sonia Johnson. I got to know her through my then-bestie Debbie when I lived at Utah.

I did photography when Johnson came to Salt Lake City during her 1984 Presidential campaign. I have pictures and a half-hour reel of film from one of Johnson’s press conferences.

*

I am not done. I’d like to think that I have many more protests in my reserve. I’d like to think that better I should bequeath my activism to the next generation who have the energy of youth.

Maybe I didn’t participate in a hunger strike as Johnson, but I made great sacrifice for Equal Rights and Feminist causes.

I had been a Personnel Specialist. I would have been at GS-11 in two years through the Progressive Promotion process, GS-12 within a few more years.

Instead, you know the history, I lost my federal government job – fired for being Transsexual.

 – The loss of career cost me at least $2 million in lost federal government earnings had I remained a federal employee during the past three decades.

 – I had to cash in my federal retirement fund to make ends meet during my first year after leaving the Forest Service; as such, I have no federal employee retirement for my seven years of service.

 – Factor in that I was reduced to working Minimum Wage and low-wage temp agency assignments for the five years following my departure from the Forest Service.

We each contribute our sacrifices in our own way.

*

These are some of my political cohorts from Utah:

 – Jean Jankowski
 – Debbie Evensen
 – Lee Ann Walker
 – Kim Brown.

Are you here?

Maybe ‘We’ll Meet Again’ – become re-acquainted and reminisce about our old days.

*

We each contribute our sacrifices in our own way.

*

These are some of my political cohorts from Utah:

– Jean Jankowski
– Debbie Evensen
– Lee Ann Walker
– Kim Brown.

Are you here?

Maybe ‘We’ll Meet Again’ – become re-acquainted and reminisce about our old days.

My activism added to my hot water with the Forest Service – my agency and management knew about me, about my membership in three Feminist organisations.

Jeffrey F Adams-Vampy is feeling allergic with Honey Laura and 57 others at Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
25 Jan 2018

#RiddleMeThis:
I’m so excited that I discovered #KrispyKreme has their individual #Doughnut #IngredientsList online!!! People ask me “How do you know what you can or can’t eat?” Today is a PERFECT example & will show you how crazy of a land mine field my diet CAN be or like Russian roulette!

I’ve had their #Original #Glazed my whole life! Assuming their recipe hasn’t changed much, I *should* be ok w/ that…
So, I see the ingredients & it says it has “nonfat dry milk” (or something) & I know I’ve eaten at minimum a 1/2 dozen of them in 1 sitting at some point! Very possibly an entire dozen! Why does my body NOT *noticeably* react to that?!

Yet, at my friend’s wedding, a few years ago, I started going into shock & got hives all over my body from eating #CreamedCorn, which I thought was safe cuz I’d grown up eating #Canned creamed corn, but I learned that homemade or catered versions usually include actual cream!

#WTF!
Like, #WhatTheActualFuck, ya know?!? 😖😖😖

So, anyway, by having the individual ingredients list for their doughnuts, I can decipher what’s likely to or not to bother me! YAY!!! 😍

Previously, I’d just simply avoid something that looked dairy, but now I know the filling is just sugar & fat! WOO HOO! 😂 I got a #BirthdayCakeDoughnut on my #Birthday! YAY!!! 😍

It makes no sense!!! So I just avoid what I know to avoid & eat what’s been safe previously! My #Allergies #SUCK!!!

*Extra Hugz @ Lindsey & Michael*
💜💙💚💛❤️♥️💝♥️❤️💛💚💙💜

P.S.,
Sorry! I got a little #TagHappy, at some point, & started adding people I remember having been around when I’ve had a reaction or who’ve been around when I’ve ordered food at new places… hahaha

It’s a miracle you’re still alive! I think a good rule moving forward is don’t eat things that have “cream” in the name, and if Taya is there then follow her lead! 😉

Well, vegan is *often* more likely to be safe for me, but not entirely, cuz I have 2 extremely bad allergies, but 1 is dairy & the other is hazelnuts, which is vegan-friendly…
I can’t have any nuts or beans, including soybeans, which are both very big vegan protein-replacements… so I’m usually screwed either way 😜 hahaha

I don’t know how you do it, Jeffrey! I know allergies are horrible, and I feel lucky that my extreme ones are only to peaches and nectarines (though I love them)…so I can just avoid all fruit salads and desserts. But to have to avoid all the foods you have to avoid, I just marvel at your dexterity! HUGS!

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

KEY FACTS

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.

“TRUMP DOESN’T ONLY HATE VETERANS, HE HATES FIRST RESPONDER HEROES,” tweeted actress Debra Messing in reaction to the Daily News report.

Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland school shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, said he was “F—KING P—-ED” about the report, because his brother died of cancer from 9/11.

“From the administration whose identity is built on claims of honoring first responders,” Julie Cohen, director of the RBG documentary, wrote on Twitter.

“This doesn’t surprise me at all,” Army veteran and advocate Paul Rieckoff wrote on Twitter. “Trump did NOTHING to push for the extension of #Zadroga last year.”

“We are also working with Congressman King and others to examine any potential authorities to provide relief in this case to support our nation’s 9/11 heroes,” the Treasury spokesperson. told Forbes, but could not provide any examples of how they would do it, and did not have a timeline.

CRUCIAL QUOTE

“Here we have sick World Trade Center-exposed firefighters and EMS workers, at a time when the city is having difficult financial circumstances due to COVID-19, and we’re not getting the money we need to be able to treat these heroes,” FDNY Chief Medical Officer David Prezant told the Daily News.

CHIEF CRITIC

“Pure evil,” tweeted Dr. Dena Grayson, a medical expert who specializes in ebola and other viruses.
