Dr. Chettawut is my surgeon.

Here follows is something approximating what I wrote that Suck deleted.
I was doing errands one day, about April or May 2015, that happened to be at the same building where Dr. Meltzer had his medical office. I only recently heard of him, my Endocrinologist printed the front page of his web-site during my March appointment, I don’t recall that I had yet been to his web-site, otherwise his name listed amongst the tenants would have meant nothing to me, same as the others. I figured, hey, why not pop in and look around, ask questions, learn about him and what he provides.
Pfffttt!
The front waiting room was all that was immediately there. Nothing inviting. Stark office brown, generic office furniture. I don’t remember anything on the walls – no pictures, no certificates.
I approached the desk clerk’s sliding window. She asked what I wanted, not much friendliness, not inviting. I told her that my Endocrinologist referred me to him, that I was considering Dr. Meltzer, that I want to speak to someone about his services. The clerk rotely snapped back that there is no one to talk to, no one to answer my questions, that I can make an appointment for a Consultation, the Consultation schedule has openings in a year or two, Consultation fee is $1000, the fee will be applied to any medical services IF Dr. Meltzer accepts me, SRS ranges from $35.000 to $45.000, payable in advance, cash or credit card, no insurance, no MediCare, surgery may not be scheduled at least for another year or two after Consultation.
Pfffttt, again.
I departed.
Talking to the doctor costs $1000 with nothing to show for it??? Two years wait???
‘IF’ he decides to accept me??? Another two years wait???
I learned a few months later that Dr. Meltzer does the two-stage procedure rendering the patient a half-and-half monster for six months, maybe a year, or more. No thanks! I’m already a half-and-half, I want to be made whole.
I assured myself that I can do better.
I did much, much better, very much better.

I have never met him, but do know people who have been to him or are on his waiting list. They seem to report being satisfied.
Each person must do research sufficient to become comfortable with their surgeon. What may be critical to one may be irrelevant to another.

Who has credibility here? One anonymous blog post, or literally THOUSANDS of satisfied patients. In fact, I’m one of them.
The accusations described here IN NO WAY reflects what I experienced. And none of my friends did, either.

That is so true. I learned the hard way also. I was in Idaho. There was only 2 orthopedic surgeons in 50 miles or more.
Well being uninformed I had a knee surgery to fix a torn cartridge. Well, it was a horizontal tear. Most are vertical. I was a work related injury to make matters worse.
It never got better.. I went back and it didn’t click. Like a vertical tear.
I was then told I was melingering. It’s all on York head. There nothing wrongwith you. And the Insurance company was saying this also.
It went on for 18 months. I went to the other surgeon.
It felt it click 1 time. But, he measured my leg. It was 1.5 inches smaller around than my other leg. I was on the table for surgery and they got to me I wanted to change my mind. It was to late. I couldn’t get the words out before I was asleep.
Well, it was a horizontal tear. I got better but it lead to more difficult later.
So, now with the internet you should check every thing about ANY Doctor you go to. I check my VA Doctors also.
This my just be one out of many but be cautious you don’t have another body.

A Facebook ‘Memories’ from four years ago.
I posted an article about Dr. Meltzer. That post and article disappeared from Faceplop. This subsequent post was my responce to that development.
I have never met Dr. Meltzer personally, as far as I know. I did have an experience with his office in 2015 that was definitely sub-par, at best.
The precaution is that each of us must do our own enquiries, must communicate our needs with each prospective surgeon, must achieve our own level of comfort.
I chose Dr. Chettawut and am quite pleased with every aspect of my experience with him and his entire team. I would go to Dr. Chettawut again.

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.
