My cousin was getting married several years ago. As a condition of my attendance, she ordered me to wear some gawd awful men’s orange polyester leisure suit.
I refused her demand. Hey, I had been out and presenting more than a decade as Sharon. No way am I looking foolish wearing a man’s ugly suit and present as Nick.
Afterward, she gaslighted, she said that she never made such a demand. Pfffttt on her.
At least my sister flat out refused to even send an invitation card a few years later. That’s okay. She blathered about her wedding and reception ‘for family only’. I’m not ‘family’ in that sense, I’m an adoption. Pfffttt on her, too.

Facing criminal indictment in New York, twice impeached loser pretty sure he’s going to be “reinstated” to the presidency, as if that was a thing that could legally happen, Constitutionally speaking, by a bunch of phoney Republican “audits” and rescued by a disgraced, twice fired general who was essentially kicked out of the military for sexual harassment and is now today denying he actually said what he very clearly said about the idea of a military coup.
History has shown that this sort of cancer cannot be left untreated.
You cannot reason with unreasonable people.
You cannot compromise with those determined to see you dead.
There is no bipartisanship possible with fanatics.
It’s time to stop fucking around with these traitors, insurrectionists, and seditionists. They need to be rounded up and criminally charged for their actions before they succeed in destroying the Republic, and they need to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Memorial Day 2021 – Biden attended the commemoration at Arlington.

Allow me to suggest that the message of meme is that Crooked Drumpf plays golf with far more zeal than he is concerned for the Veterans at Arlington. Remember, Crooked Drumpf refused to attend services for GIs and Veterans during his term, most infamously refusing to attend a D Day service at France.

Let me introduce you to the Queens Liberation Front, as I’m sure few of you have heard of them. The QLF was an action arm of the NY trans community in the early 1970s. These are the folks who paid for the queer community’s post-stonewall legal battle. These are the folks who paid the bills for the Mattachine Society. These are the folks who fought early anti-trans RadFem (TERF) bullshit (RadFems were trying to have trans folk barred from the City Hall restrooms). These are the folks who paid for and helped organize the National meetings of Homophile Organizations before StoneWall. These are the folks who were legally challenging and conducting actions against anti-queer laws in New York prior to Stonewall.
When was the last time you heard of these people? This image are 40 years old. Have you ever seen it before? No?
Makes one wonder why these amazing people were edited out of queer history…

Pride?
Yes, it is Pride Month. If not for the Covid problem, right now there would be parades and celebrations and parties, etc, etc.
Let’s take a hard look at two things which are related to each other.
One. If we take a look at this year, and even 2020 and 2019. Would you say your legal rights are any better than the previous years? Can you get married in your country? Can you adopt children? Is there less discrimination for jobs, job opportunities, housing, the ability to change the gender on your driver license and passport? Is there less homophobia and better acceptance in your town/city let alone your country over the past 2-3 years?
Two. How did this whole “Pride” thing start? The two major events were the Comptons Cafeteria riot where Trans women stood up and said “No More”. There was the Stonewall Riot where Gay men stood up and said “No More”. These uprisings turned into marches, protests, organized lobbying of the government for better rights, and the whole LGBT community standing up in public saying, “We are not going away, we demand equal rights”. These people are the heroes of the LGBT community, and they have passed down their fight to the younger ones to continue on.
Does anyone here think your Government will walk into their offices on Monday morning and say, “This LGBT Rights thing, hmmm, let’s do the right thing and fix it today so they have equal rights like everybody else.” NOPE! Governments only do things when it is in their own self interest (like getting re-elected), from pressure and influence by corporations, from pressure by other countries, from pressure and protests by the people (who are the voters who might be able to re-elect them).
There are LGBT rights activists and groups in every country. If you truly want equal rights, the end of discrimination, the end of transphobia/homophobia, it is time to stand with them to put pressure on the Governments to change the laws and change the courts to enforce those laws. Governments will not do the right thing unless you, the people of your country stand up to them and make them change it, If they don’t, vote them out and elect people in power who are committed to change.
There were some incredibly brave and scared people at Comptons and Stonewall. Don’t let their efforts go to waste.

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.
“TRUMP DOESN’T ONLY HATE VETERANS, HE HATES FIRST RESPONDER HEROES,” tweeted actress Debra Messing in reaction to the Daily News report.
Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland school shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, said he was “F—KING P—-ED” about the report, because his brother died of cancer from 9/11.
