‘Memorial Day (2023)’

Dear Reader:
I was browsing through my collection of memes and screen print images. I was looking for something for this Memorial Day weekend.
I need to write something. Maybe not too much. Allow the attachments speak for themselves, tell their message.
My father was drafted at age 18, sent to Boot Camp, then sent to serve at the Pacific Theater of World War II. The military assigned him to duty throughout the East all the way west to the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf.
The military assigned my father to the Occupation Forces at Japan. The military awarded him a Japanese ceremonial sword; those were special awards to a limited number of GIs.
My father’s older brother served with the Code Talkers.
Both my father and his older brother opened a family tavern after the military discharged them. Something akin to Kelsey’s / ‘Archie’s Place’ on ‘All in the Family’.
The USA military came calling for my father when ‘conflict’ developed at the Korean Peninsula. They drafted him a second time. He served under extreme hardship; his DD-214 documents that the military awarded the Bronze Star to him.
My father would later serve as Commander for his local Veterans group during the 1980s.
My father bought an SLR camera and an 8mm home movie camera while on Occupation; he took pictures and movies during his Occupation service and then of Korea. During my childhood (the 1960s), my father allowed me to view those slides and 8mm home movies of his military experiences. My father rarely talked about the details of his military service.
My father returned home from military service, but the family tavern business failed. My father worked as a city cop while attending college through the GI Bill. He later worked as a drafting engineer for an aerospace corporation; he was on various design teams, one was creating what would become the Space Shuttle.
My father left the aerospace job to teach. His first assignment was a high school History teacher, then middle school Mathematics, and high school Mathematics. He also took later assignments as an elementary school Principal (Greece, New Mexico, and Arizona).
Jimmy was my neighbour and friend during my childhood. Actually, Jimmy is his nickname, he worked on his hot rod. We – Jimmy, myself, and other neighbours – played basketball at his driveway. The USA military drafted him at age 18, sent him to Boot Camp, then sent him directly to Viet Nam to die as cannon fodder at age 18. I have an etching of his name from the Viet Nam War Memorial Wall.
Dunno that I could have served in the military. I was in Transition at age 18. The military was not admitting Trans people in 1974. BBesides, I registered for the Draft as a Conscientious Objector. I did work as Civilian at a military base (1977 – 1978).
I sincerely doubt that my father fought in two wars to support the Hate agenda of Republi-cons, Christian Con-servatives, and Christian Nationalists. Nor Jimmy. Did you or your family or friends fight for the USA to become a nation of Hate! You are out there, either openly or else you enlisted falsely; you violated your solemn Oath of Office to gain expertise in military operations to eventually join anti-American terrorist groups to help overthrow our Constitution.

They call themselves Christian Taliban and Christian Nationalists. They proclaim ‘In God We Trust’, the motto established to differentiate the USA from those ‘godless Commies’. They assert that they are exclusively White European. Christian Nationalists render Black and Hispanic Christians to subordinate class status, which puzzles me why multitudes of Black, Hispanic, and other minorities flock to Christian Nationalist churches where their place is 2nd Class citizen. Political operatives who are convicted felons, convicted for Perjury and Bribery, are proclaiming honesty and the adherence to the Bible and the 10 Commandments.

In March 2022, the Idaho House of Representatives, like legislatures in 13 other states, voted to criminalize providing gender-affirming medical care to transgender youth. When asked about the bill’s threat to the lives of trans youth, Republican State Rep. Julianne Young replied, “I see this conversation as an extension of the pro-life argument.… We’re not talking about the life of the child, but we are talking about the potential to give life to another generation.”
On the one hand, we want to emphasize that Young’s assertion, suggesting that trans people never have or raise children, is false. Not only do trans people have and raise children, they often do so biologically, using their own gametes. On the other hand, it is important not to reproduce the implicit logic of Young’s statement, that adoption, fostering, extended family and kinship networks are somehow less important than biological reproduction. By reducing the definition of family and care to biological reproduction, Young is participating in the increasingly common “great replacement” discourse, a rhetorical framework grounded in the belief that society is structured first and foremost as a set of competing groups jostling for biological superiority.
So, whose group matters to Young? Using the basic demographics of her state, its clear that she is concerned with white trans youth. Looking beyond demographics, we have to think about who “counts” as a child in the United States. As scholars like Jules Gill-Peterson and others suggest, whiteness and childhood are co-constructed. Children of color are rarely described the way we describe white children, as something to be protected, nurtured and supported. Instead, they undergo “adultification,” being treated legally and socially as adults. White children, within this framework, need to be protected from the “social contagion” of transness. In comparison, children of color are already contaminated because of the historical connections between race and sexual and gender transgression.
Her comments not only point to common ground between anti-trans and anti-abortion movements, but are reminiscent of neo-Nazi David Lane’s infamous 14-word white nationalist slogan: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.” The similarities point to the profound interconnectedness of transantagonism, sexism and racism. And the parallel proliferation of anti-trans, anti-abortion and anti-critical race theory bills isn’t a coincidence, either: They, too, are ultimately rooted in racism and white supremacy.
The bills flow from a fundamental belief that whiteness — both the category and those who occupy it — is under threat. The validity of this belief is less important than its influence; studies demonstrate that white Americans tend to see racism as a zero-sum game they are now losing. White people, as a category, tend to think of themselves as victims in a “winner-take-all” battle between supposedly “natural” racial groups, in which survival (and reproduction) of the fittest determines the dominant group. From this perspective, any advance made by non-white racial groups is seen as a direct attack on white supremacy and the ongoing ability of white people to reproduce — not just children, but the power and privilege of whiteness itself.
This social Darwinism produces two other rationales for violence: fear of demographic shifts which place white people in the numerical minority (“great replacement” theory), and fears about declining white reproduction (“white genocide” theory). These anxieties are deeply rooted in the collective American psyche and enshrined in its legal traditions.
White fears over Chinese immigration, particularly after the completion of the transcontinental railroad, led to the passing of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, restricting all Chinese immigration to the U.S. and developing a legal point of reference for anti-Chinese pogroms and town burnings across the West Coast. The 1924 Johnson-Reed Act continued this tradition by completely closing off immigration from Asia and limiting all other immigration to 2 percent of each nationality as measured in the 1890 census.

Nebraska lawmaker says Republicans ‘hate’ her trans son more than they love their own kids

Nebraska Democrat Megan Hunt, one of two politicians who have filibustered anti-trans Republican bills in the state for three months, has issued a powerful message to her rivals.
Hunt, a mother to a trans son, was responding to senator Lou Ann Linehan in the Nebraska state House, who had complained that the filibuster on Legislative Bill 574 (LB574) meant she had missed her grandson’s preschool graduation.
A ‘filibuster’ is when politicians talk for as long as possible in a bid to stop legislation from passing.
“I hate that for you. I’m so sorry, seriously, I would hate to have that happen to me,” Hunt responded, before saying she was “happy” her efforts had rivals listening.
“I am not asking you to sit here through late nights to vote on these bills that we’re dragging out. I’m asking you to love your family more than you hate mine.
“If you want to see your grandson graduate from preschool, you should do that.”
She told the House she was blocking the passing of the bill because of the effect it would have on her family.
“Instead, you are here to drag out this session because you won’t come off this bill that hurts my son. You hate him, more than you love your own family and that’s why you’re here,” Hunt said.
“We don’t need you here. We need you to vote ‘no’ or present not voting on 574.
“There’s nothing else in this body that’s affecting your family that way.”

Hunt, along with fellow Nebraska Democrat Machaela Cavanaugh began to filibuster LB574 on 23 February. If the bill isn’t passed by 9 June, when the current legislative session ends, it will fail.
LB574 would end gender-affirming healthcare for under-18s in the state, and when the filibuster began, Cavanaugh promised she would “burn the session to the ground” in order to stop it being passed.
In a blow to Hunt, Cavanaugh and their supporters, Republicans held a successful vote to combine its trans healthcare ban with a bill banning abortion after 12 weeks in the state earlier this week.
“You are willing to drive this state into the ground. You look ridiculous,” Cavanaugh said in response, Associated Press reported.
“Women will die, children are dying, and you are responsible.”
She echoed Montana lawmaker Zooey Zephyr in claiming Republicans have “buckets and buckets of blood on your hands.”
When Zeyphr made her “blood on your hands” speech on 18 April 2023, she was censured by Republicans and expelled from the Montana state House.

Ron DeSantis spent Wednesday (17 May) indulging in what seems to be one of his favourite pastimes – enacting new laws that will make life much more difficult for LGBTQ+ people.
Florida’s hard-line Republican governor approved five new laws targeting the queer community, including a ban on gender-affirming care, restrictions on trans people using toilets, and drag show bans.
These newly implemented restrictions come amid an already-hostile environment for queer people in the state thanks to DeSantis’ war against what he sees as “woke ideology”.
He signed House Bill 1438, restricting drag shows, House Bill 1069, which expands the state’s Don’t Say Gay law, Senate Bill 254, banning gender-affirming care, House Bill 1521, to restrict the rights of trans people to use public toilets, and House Bill 225, which restricts trans people’s access to youth sports programmes.
Two days earlier, the governor – and possible presidential candidate – signed Senate Bill 266 into law, restricting equity initiatives from the Florida education system, which pulled funding from diversity, equality and inclusion programmes at public universities in the state.
He said that the new legislation would make Florida a “refuge of sanity”, seemingly referring to laws in some other US states, which have declared themselves safe havens for LGBTQ+ people fleeing places such as Florida.
“We need to let our kids just be kids,” he told reporters, after signing the bills. “What we’ve said in Florida is we are going to remain a refuge of sanity and a citadel of normalcy.”
Human rights groups condemn Ron DeSantis’ attacks
DeSantis’ continued attacks on LGBTQ+ people have been shamed by human rights groups and progressive politicians.
Human Rights Campaign (HRC) president, Kelley Robinson, said “extremist” Republicans passing these bills in Florida are some of the “most anti-LGBTQ+ politicians in America.”
She added: “DeSantis has made [it] clear that demonising LGBTQ+ people will be [at] the centre of his legislative agenda and presidential run.
“From doctors’ offices to classrooms, they show no shame in assaulting the freedoms of those different from them. They are trying to whitewash history and use the power of the government to punish anyone they disagree with.”
In association with several legal teams, the HRC will look to block SB 254 because of the potential damage restricting gender-affirming care could do to trans children.
Meanwhile, Lambda Legal’s deputy legal director for policy, Kristine Kippins, noted the audacity of signing the bills on International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
“Governor Ron DeSantis is demonstrating an intentional, callous disregard for LGBTQ+ Floridians and, in particular, trans youth, by facilitating homophobia and transphobia and exposing his most vulnerable population to discrimination,” she said.
DeSantis’ tirade against LGBTQ+ people isn’t set to stop yet, with a sixth bill, that would discourage cities from passing non-discrimination ordinances, by raising restrictions, seemingly set to be signed into law in the near future.
The combined anti-LGBTQ+ bills signed into law exceed the past seven years of state anti-LGBTQ+ legislation combined, according to the HRC.
Speaking out against the bill, democratic state senator Shevrin Jones, who is gay, told the Associated Press: “Every parent has the right to raise their child the way they want to as long as your child is not gay, trans [or] bisexual. That’s freedom for some parents, but not for all parents.”

Following along the ideology of Nixon, what he experimented during the 1950s, what he perfected and taught to the Argentinian, Brasilian, Chilean dictatorships of the 1970s – Disappear – separate immigrant children from their families, kill their parents, and move the orphaned children to live with Ruling Class adoptions. We know of about 1500 that Crooked Drumpf admits, only Crooked Drumpf and his criminal administration know how many hundreds, thousands more immigrant children suffered such ‘Family Values’ fate. We may not know til a Truth Commission decades from now that exposes the extent of Crooked Drumpf’s corruption..

The new Trump policy of separating immigrant children from their parents is barbaric. It is nauseating. It is un-American.
People are fleeing violence or persecution, or desperately need medical care, and we greet them by taking their kids away? Some children as young as 53-weeks-old and being kept away from their mothers and fathers for months on end.

I learned something bizarre in the intervening years since this 2018 post. My sister disclosed that she has a third child who was born after Rachael.
What kind of sister conceals such information!

So…in 2018, the continuing existence of America as the Land of the Free or a theocracy ruled by a tyrant who has no religion, other than gold & power, will be determined by our mid term elections.
Republicans must lose for the former & lose badly. Democrats & Independents must clean house of all festering left overs, so need a clear majority.
We all know the above, & one would assume Republicans know this also & that the resistance has the vote. Yet, Repubs show no motion towards compromise even now, no movement towards moderation. That would signal they have yet, another outrage to commit on American standards of law & common decency.
They have a choice of being defeated at mid terms & suffering at the hands of their opponents, with legal actions against some not beyond possibility. Or, try to stop the mid term votes by any means. What other choice is there for them?
Example scenario: Even though hacking our election is almost guaranteed, Trump & the Repubs are ignoring their Constitutional responsibility & doing nothing…that is not for no reason. Any hacking would be an excuse for invalidating the elections &/or forcing delays in the count. Protest erupt, shots are fired, Trump blames the resistance & calls out the National Guard & winks at his Nazi pals, while they brutalize. Protests are subdued, just like in Russia, Turkey, Iran…etc.
Putin financed Republicans, the religious right & the NRA ignore Mueller & have already started up with their fact-less opinions; blaming American gun violence on culture, videos, movies, Ritalin…Evangelicals on legal abortion, of course. Opinions become pretext for passing morality laws.
There will be a crushing of American liberties as the theocracy thickens. At some point, if not already, America will become an enemy of Europe; have no doubt plans have already being drawn up. Intelligence is not being shared.
It is fact Republicans are at the lower end of the intelligent quotient in America & it seems, any that had brains (relatively speaking) have been driven insane by conspiracy theories, religious quackery & titanic hypocrisy. So, maybe they don’t realize we’re heading for a civil war, or maybe they do…& they want it, confident their final solution will finish off their definition of “Godless” Americans…

The people of the United States of America would do well to learn from the European Union.
The Confederate States of Amerika was quite similar to how Europe was before the EU – disjointed, small-minded, parochial enclaves warring as much among themselves to promote only their own selfish interests at the exclusion of all others.
Today’s politics of Crooked Drumpf – Republic-cons, Libertarians, Right-wingers, Christian Con-servatives – want to change the USA into their old Confederacy. That is what they call ‘freedom’.
The Confederacy was bound to collapse on itself without a single gunshot. It was nearing collapse by the time of Appomattox. Each state, city, locality was in-fighting against another, demanding its own little fiefdom as the universe unto themselves.
I speak from personal experiences. I lived at Greece and travelled throughout most of Europe (1971 – 1973). I remember many of the annoyances and hindrances depicted in the video. Surely we here at America can prevent our nation from sinking into that past – as was the Confederacy.

You show who you are. I have every reason to believe you as you say you are, accept what you accept as you are, that you do as you do for what you are.
You are the same as any NAZI of the 20th Century. Hitler’s earliest targets for his Final Solution were the Trans Community and the LGBT Community of Germany.
These days in America, you vote Republi-con, you support Crooked Drumpf, you surrender to your Big Lie.
I take this quite personally. Your ideology today calls for – demands – the extermination of my Trans Community and my LGBTQIA Community – same as Hitler and NAZIs. You are THE existential threat to my true Friends, to my own well-being and my life.
I hold you accountable for your ideology, responsible for your politics of destruction, answerable for your acts of Hate.
Appeasement to your ideology is never a solution. You and I might be here in social media as ‘Friends’, or at my web-site, or we are amicable in real life; but you can NEVER truly be amongst my real Friends, whether here in the cyber world or in real life. I can NEVER trust you.

Trans folk already know that 45’s latest moves put all of our lives at risk. Horror stories happen even with the protections in place. I am not going to rehearse them here. Folk who have been around for 10+ years know names of community members who died from lack of basic care. This has nothing to do with gender confirmation services. Dunno how long the sentence this time.
This current episode started yesterday.
A Friend posted about criminal cops killing Black people.
I commented with a meme image making the rounds. I added my own commentary text. Notice that what I was re-writing to that Comment were derived from a selection of my own prior posts that Suckerburg did not censor.
I later tried to edit the text, the edit didn’t take.
Then I noticed that both my Comment and that image are deleted.
I went to where I found that meme from my Facebook Feed. That same meme remains where I found it.
I mentioned to my Friend that maybe the Zuck bots hit but didn’t yet send me to Facebook Jail.
Yowch!
As I was writing my text to her, Auto Fill wrote that last sentence as soon as I typed ‘Zuck bots’ – all the options were on my keyboard screen.
My iPad keyboard has three word options along the top. Each word following ‘Zuck bots’ was in the center location. Suckerburg and his algorithm bots even selected the words that agree with my style of writing.
It felt really weird seeing those words show. As in, ‘somebody is watching’.
Suckerburg is actually watching us.

That meme that Zuck decided to be offending to his ideology represents historical fact. The 2nd Amendment established the Right of White plantation owners to conduct Slave Patrols – to capture or murder runaway Negro Slaves.
That meme also represents that these Slave Patrols now exist as our local or state police – White cops who track and murder Black people as their ‘sport’.

America’s cops are having their Harvey Weinstein moment

Sometimes cultural change takes generations or even centuries; sometimes it happens in the seeming blink of the eye. America’s bad cops — and their enablers — are having their Harvey Weinstein moment.
Harvey was a big shot in Hollywood for decades when it was not uncommon for powerful men to help make women into stars in exchange for sex. It was so common that in a Cagney and Lacey TV show from the 1980s one of the characters openly asks the other if a particularly ditzy “movie star” character in that episode of the show “slept with the producer” to get the part.
As Larry Getlin wrote in a review of a new book about Lucille Ball (“I Love Lucy”):
She eventually found work as a model, and as she sought acting roles, received advice from Lela Rogers — mother of her good friend Ginger Rogers — that she would later follow.
“If you want to be a star within two years, get auditioned on the casting couch,” Lela told her. “That’s the advice I gave my own daughter.”
The “casting couch” was legendary, and predatory men were almost never held to account. As Weinstein’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, (unsuccessfully) argued, “The casting couch in Hollywood was not invented by Harvey Weinstein. … If a woman decides that she needs to have sex with a Hollywood producer to advance her career and actually does it and finds the whole thing offensive, that’s not rape.”
But culture had changed, and “normal behavior” in the industry was, through the actions of a few brave women, redefined.
As Weinstein’s Hollywood story unraveled, women in other fields and other parts of the country came forward to say “me, too!” and America discovered this kind of abuse wasn’t restricted to movie-land. It was also happening on TV shows, across television networks, and even in public broadcasting. It was happening in pretty much every kind of major company across America, and often went from transactional sex to rape in moments.
It took half a decade and a number of well-researched exposés, but it appears Hollywood largely no longer tolerates such things, and the same is true increasingly across our corporate landscape.
And that was just phase 1.
Now, in phase 2, people who knew what was going on but had no direct involvement other than failing to alert anybody are being held to account, as well. Executives and managers who were in a position to know about and stop the “casting couch” and its equivalent in other industries but did nothing are now losing their jobs and even being sued.
America, having experienced this extraordinarily rapid transformation in business culture is now, it appears, on the verge of a similarly deep, meaningful and rapid transition in police culture.
Police have been getting away with killing the poor, the powerless and the non-white — and with raping and otherwise abusing women — in this country since it’s inception. Just like wealthy, powerful men had been getting away with forcing themselves on women wanting to get or hold employment.
And it’s not just American police: in El Salvador they’ve pulled eight bodies out of graves in the backyard of a Salvadoran police officer just in the past week and the country is furious. When you give someone deadly weapons and a legal license to use them largely at their own discretion, the temptation is often too great, particularly for the type of person drawn to authoritarian-type positions like police work.
The murder by police of George Floyd didn’t just trigger the largest protest demonstration in the history of the United States; it is resonating all over the world.
In much the same way women are sick and tired of being mistreated by men, much of humanity appears to have reached the absolute limit of their tolerance for being abused by police.
When movements like #MeToo! and #BadCops go international, you know culture is changing in a way that won’t fall back to its old standards.
Here in America, we’re learning of a 2-year coverup of murderous Louisiana cops by their supervisors (and trying to learn how high up the chain of command it goes); the cops beat, Tased, hogtied with chains and brutally dragged Ronald Greene to death, all while joking about how much blood he was getting on their clothes.
Yesterday’s story was about an off-duty Texas cop who shot a Black woman who’d simply made a U-Turn that got in his way and pissed him off; we’re hit with almost daily stories of police shooting Black people just because they can and they believe, based on centuries of experience, that they can always get away with it.
As the evil reality of a presumed minority of cops who regularly get away with rape, beatings and murder — and the horrible reality that the vast majority of cops ignore or cover up such crimes for their “thin blue line” colleagues — is sinking into the white American psyche (this is no secret for Black people), pro-American legislators are trying to get the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act passed out of the Senate.
It will even provide for “Phase 2” — not just holding individual cops accountable, but also adding significant civilian oversight to hold management to account, too.
And reform is absolutely needed, particularly civilian oversight. The Founders put a civilian in charge of the military for the very simple reason that military-style organizations tend to become internally culturally insular and powerful factions themselves. Thus, the Secretary of Defense must be a civilian, as well as the President above the SecDef.
For the same reason, police must be ultimately responsible to civilian oversight.
Similarly, while even presidents can frustrate legal processes as Bill Clinton tried to do getting out of a deposition about Monica Lewinsky, and Donald Trump has temporarily pulled off so far by simply defying Congress and the courts, they must ultimately never be able to avoid accountability. No person in America is above the law.
This was the point George Washington made in his farewell address:
The very idea of the power and the right of the people to establish government presupposes the duty of every individual to obey the established government.
Republican senators — apparently fans of cops terrorizing women, Black people and other minorities (they don’t want them voting, anyway!) — continue to block the legislation and oppose real accountability for America’s cops. But, long-term, they may as well be trying to stop water from flowing downhill.
Culture has changed. It’ll take a while for law and justice to catch up with it — and it’ll take longer in Red states than Blue — but it’s unlikely things will ever go back to how they were.
The generation coming up now is not going to let this moment pass like previous generations were forced to do by the powers-that-be after horrors like the brutal murder of Emmit Till, the beating of Rodney King or the murder of Eric Garner.
The casting couch is largely now a relic of the past. If we all join forces and push hard, calling our senators (the Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121) and otherwise working for change, soon the same could be true of murderous, corrupt and unaccountable cops.

Dunno how long the sentence this time.
This current episode started yesterday.
A Friend posted about criminal cops killing Black people.
I commented with a meme image making the rounds. I added my own commentary text.
I later tried to edit the text, the edit didn’t take.
Then I noticed that both my Comment and that image are deleted.
I went to where I found that meme from my Facebook Feed. That same meme remains where I found it.
I mentioned to my Friend that maybe the Zuck bots hit but didn’t yet send me to Facebook Jail.
Yowch!
As I was writing my text to her, Auto Fill wrote that last sentence as soon as I typed ‘Zuck bots’ – all the options were on my keyboard screen.
My iPad keyboard has three word options along the top. Each word following ‘Zuck bots’ was in the center location. Suckerburg and his algorithm bots even selected the words that agree with my style of writing.
It felt really weird seeing those words show. As in, ‘somebody is watching’.
Suckerburg is actually watching us.

The Constitution tells us ‘All men are created equal …’
The 14th Amendment is about ‘Equal Protection’.
Yet we of the Trans and Inter Community have yet to be there. The greater LGBT Community is losing tenuous ground thanks to Crooked Drumpf, Republi-cons, Christian Con-servatives, and the members of our own Community whose endeavour is to end our existence.

Important words from one of the most loving Mama Bears on planet earth:
“I get asked a lot — mostly by MAGA comments on news articles — exactly what rights trans people have lost under this administration. And it’s a complicated question to answer because the fact is that a lot of the trans community has never really experienced equality or felt like they had the same rights as cis folks.
For far too long, trans folks have existed with crumbs of acceptance and occasional affirming policies. But policies are sometimes only worth the paper they’re written on.
Want to serve in the military?
✅ … if you don’t come out or transition.
Want to keep your job?
✅ … if you work for a really progressive company in a state with gender identity protections.
Need to see a doctor?
✅ … good luck if you can find one educated on trans issues and if you have the money for your care.
Want to focus on your education?
✅ … if you attend a school in a state with protections, staff has been trained, and (often) if you don’t make demands about bathrooms and locker rooms.
Have a civil rights complaint against the Department of Education?
🛑 … sorry, not taking those complaints anymore
Have a workplace discrimination case?
🛑 … sorry, the Department of Justice will no longer have your back.
Need some emergency shelter while you get back on your feet?
🛑 … HUD is not going to affirm your gender and will place you somewhere that you won’t feel safe.
End up in jail for the night, or worse, sentenced to prison?
🛑 … I can’t even say what I feel about this.
And now today, here’s another blow.
Need to see a doctor, get an x-ray, have a prescription filled, what to see a therapist or schedule surgery?
🛑🛑🛑 … someone in that pipeline might object to you and will get a free pass at turning you away.
So what rights have been lost?
It seems trans folks would have needed to have felt they had rights in order to feel like they were lost. Right now, the mere fight to achieve their rights is what we are losing.
