The Constitution tells us ‘All men are created equal …’
The 14th Amendment is about ‘Equal Protection’.
Yet we of the Trans and Inter Community have yet to be there. The greater LGBT Community is losing tenuous ground thanks to Crooked Drumpf, Republi-cons, Christian Con-servatives, and the members of our own Community whose endeavour is to end our existence.

Important words from one of the most loving Mama Bears on planet earth:
“I get asked a lot — mostly by MAGA comments on news articles — exactly what rights trans people have lost under this administration. And it’s a complicated question to answer because the fact is that a lot of the trans community has never really experienced equality or felt like they had the same rights as cis folks.
For far too long, trans folks have existed with crumbs of acceptance and occasional affirming policies. But policies are sometimes only worth the paper they’re written on.
Want to serve in the military?
✅ … if you don’t come out or transition.
Want to keep your job?
✅ … if you work for a really progressive company in a state with gender identity protections.
Need to see a doctor?
✅ … good luck if you can find one educated on trans issues and if you have the money for your care.
Want to focus on your education?
✅ … if you attend a school in a state with protections, staff has been trained, and (often) if you don’t make demands about bathrooms and locker rooms.
Have a civil rights complaint against the Department of Education?
🛑 … sorry, not taking those complaints anymore
Have a workplace discrimination case?
🛑 … sorry, the Department of Justice will no longer have your back.
Need some emergency shelter while you get back on your feet?
🛑 … HUD is not going to affirm your gender and will place you somewhere that you won’t feel safe.
End up in jail for the night, or worse, sentenced to prison?
🛑 … I can’t even say what I feel about this.
And now today, here’s another blow.
Need to see a doctor, get an x-ray, have a prescription filled, what to see a therapist or schedule surgery?
🛑🛑🛑 … someone in that pipeline might object to you and will get a free pass at turning you away.
So what rights have been lost?
It seems trans folks would have needed to have felt they had rights in order to feel like they were lost. Right now, the mere fight to achieve their rights is what we are losing.

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.
“TRUMP DOESN’T ONLY HATE VETERANS, HE HATES FIRST RESPONDER HEROES,” tweeted actress Debra Messing in reaction to the Daily News report.
Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland school shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, said he was “F—KING P—-ED” about the report, because his brother died of cancer from 9/11.
“From the administration whose identity is built on claims of honoring first responders,” Julie Cohen, director of the RBG documentary, wrote on Twitter.
“This doesn’t surprise me at all,” Army veteran and advocate Paul Rieckoff wrote on Twitter. “Trump did NOTHING to push for the extension of #Zadroga last year.”
“We are also working with Congressman King and others to examine any potential authorities to provide relief in this case to support our nation’s 9/11 heroes,” the Treasury spokesperson. told Forbes, but could not provide any examples of how they would do it, and did not have a timeline.
