Queer and Trans #AbolishICE Message
We demand the end of the detention and deportation of trans and queer migrants, as well as the criminalization of Afro-descendants / blacks.
We call on LGBTQ + and immigrant rights movements to end the anti-afrodescendant / anti-black sentiment and participate in constant solidarity with LGBTQ + Afro-descendant / black immigrants in supporting and elevating our presence and leadership.
We demand the release of all trans people currently detained in all immigration detention centers throughout the country, including the Cibola County Correctional Center.
We demand the end of all forms of detention and deportation of immigrants.
Key points
Trans and queer people from Afro-descendant / Black, Latinx, Asian, and indigenous communities have been the social conscience of every movement for justice in the United States. Putting the center of the political agenda and elevating the leadership of queer and trans migrants has to be the goal for the justice movementfor LGBT and pro-migrant people.
We are talking about the abolition of ICE. Our demands reflect our belief that it is a detention center or a county sign, people are imprisoned in cages and die in them. It is the ugly truth that we have to deal with in order to really be able to have justice for migrants, particularly black / African migrants who are
disproportionately targeted by all types of government agencies.
We demand justice for Roxsana Hernandez and other queer and trans migrants who have died in ICE custody. We demand that all persons, businesses, and government agencies responsible for their care and safety be held responsible for the death of Roxsana immediately.
We demand an end to detention. Transgender migrants in detention are inhumanly denied necessary health care, including mental health care, transition care, and medications for chronic diseases such as HIV.

Queer and Trans #AbolishICE Message
We demand the end of the detention and deportation of trans and queer migrants, as well as the criminalization of Afro-descendants / blacks.
We call on LGBTQ + and immigrant rights movements to end the anti-afrodescendant / anti-black sentiment and participate in constant solidarity with LGBTQ + Afro-descendant / black immigrants in supporting and elevating our presence and leadership.
We demand the release of all trans people currently detained in all immigration detention centers throughout the country, including the Cibola County Correctional Center.
We demand the end of all forms of detention and deportation of immigrants.
Key points
Trans and queer people from Afro-descendant / Black, Latinx, Asian, and indigenous communities have been the social conscience of every movement for justice in the United States. Putting the center of the political agenda and elevating the leadership of queer and trans migrants has to be the goal for the justice movement for LGBT and pro-migrant people.
We are talking about the abolition of ICE. Our demands reflect our belief that it is a detention center or a county sign, people are imprisoned in cages and die in them. It is the ugly truth that we have to deal with in order to really be able to have justice for migrants, particularly black / African migrants who are disproportionately targeted by all types of government agencies.
We demand justice for Roxsana Hernandez and other queer and trans migrants who have died in ICE custody. We demand that all persons, businesses, and government agencies responsible for their care and safety be held responsible for the death of Roxsana immediately.
We demand an end to detention. Transgender migrants in detention are inhumanly denied necessary health care, including mental health care, transition care, and medications for chronic diseases such as HIV.

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.
