DRAFT … in progress …

‘Facebook Memories:  31 May 2024 – Graduation Season (2023)’
(31 May 2024)

*

Dear Reader:

Preface.

Suck is gone mad – touched mad – deleting posts throughout Faceplop, anything that presents ideology that he opposes.

Notice on posts at my Faceplop page that Suck deleted the URL links and posts that reference to my Faceplop page:

**
This content isn’t available right now
When this happens, it’s usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it’s been deleted.

Here are today’s Faceplop Memories of this date at prior years, with selected narrative.

Fear not, Dear Reader.  I continue posting current original compositions – I have countless ideas about topics that I have never discussed here or not commented in depth.  Posting these recent ‘Memories’ allows me to catch up to what past essays I missed posting here concurrent with Faceplop posts.

 – Sharon

Graduation Season (2023)
31 May 2023

*

Memories beginning nearly five decades ago.

Many fond memories of college.

*

My first college was Cochise College (1974 – 1978).

The Lion’s Club awarded a one-year scholarship for me to attend my first year for free. The cash value was $300 for Registration, Tuition, books, fees. Yep – that was all it cost to attend one year of college full-time here at the US of A.

I took classes in Law, Business Administration, Psychology, and Sociology. I was not quite certain what I wanted as a career, I decided that a Business coursework would open the most options.

I took Psychology and Sociology classes to learn about my Trans experience – I began my adult Transition at age 18. Recall that I took a Psychology course during 11th Grade at Pinewood (Greece). That did NOT go well one Monday when our teacher distributed our weekly study plan. There at the top of the page was the lesson:

– ‘Transsexuals and Transvestites are Perverts ‘.

NO! I am NOT a ‘Pervert’! I wanted to scream that out loud to my class-mates, but dared not to. Instead, I cried inside. I still carry the hurt and the pain that our teacher inflicted against me, for the wrong that he inculcated into my class-mates.

I began working at a service station in September 1975. I took an automotive and engine mechanics course during the Spring 1976 semester; I got an A for the course.

*

The Forest Service promoted me to an office at West Valley City, Utah, in October 1980. I began taking a college course each school Quarter at Utah Technical College (1981 – 1985).

I completed numerous college courses in Personnel Management and Business Administration to support my Forest Service career in Personnel Management.

One course was held at the nearby Union Hall at the time when Reagan declared his war against American Unions. This changed our course focus.

I also met the Director of the school’s Cosmetology Department. I learned many things about the subject that helpt my personal life changes during those years, unbeknownst to him, such as that hydrogen peroxide could lighten my dark black body hair.

*

I self-studied various medical concepts, including Inter-sex and Transsexualism; completed more than 300 CME credits in such topics as organ transplantation, embryology, prosection.

Imagine! I attended a CME course in hand and wrist anatomy, the University of Utah issued a certificate to me declaring that I am a qualified hand surgeon (May 1985).

How did that happen?

I began spending my weekend hours at the University of Utah Medical School Library to try to learn more, especially about my being Transsexual.

I apparently became a regular there.

I came upon the opportunity to determine more than I ever expected.

Doctors invited me to attend the University Medical Center’s CME classes.

I had to prove that I could keep pace with real medical topics not available to anyone other that practising physicians. They accepted me as a physician amongst them – they actually called me ‘Doctor’. My most profound education came the weekend when I attended a hand surgery training session (May 1985); the instructing physician assigned me to prosect and demonstrate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to the class, I did so nervously and successfully; it was luck that he assigned Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to me because I knew about it through my Forest Service career and documenting Workers Compensation claims for that disability. Thank you to the woman who contributed her body to science.

I also completed a teacher certification program (Autumn Quarter 1983). Elie Wiesel was a guest lecturer for the University’s ‘Seeds of World Conflict’ course. I remain in awe of him, the opportunity to sit next to him during one session as our group debated the international topics of the day. I have come to appreciate those months as the years pass.

*

More medical education followed when I moved to Tucson (May 1985) and as much continued my education experience from Utah.

For about seven months, I worked as a Pharmacy Volunteer at Kino Community Hospital (1985 – 1986). I completed a few CME classes in Pharmacology at the hospital.

I continued my self-study in Inter-sex and Transsexualism at the U of A; I completed more than 100 CME credits in medicine and pharmacology by 1987 through the University of Arizona Medical Center.

*

Next came my memory that began in 1994.

I attended college courses at Phoenix College (1994 – 1998) when I moved to Phoenix (1993).

I completed numerous courses in Business Administration and Finance during the years that would lead to my next level of college education at Grand Canyon University that would follow Phoenix College.

I met CJ during an Accounting class in 1994, she was a DJ at a local radio station. We hit it off from the start, talking shop in radio and TV. I think that CJ thought that I was Lesbian. She was correct, I am Lesbian, but I had no clue about my sexuality; I’d never been sexually active.

I considered attending PC in 2019. That thought came to a quick end when the school advisor told me that one course would cost more than $500. Sheesh! That’s groceries for a year. No thanks. Compare that to when an entire semester of full-time coursework cost $300 in the mid-1970s. I get inflation, but that $500 price is outrageous. President Biden sought for Congress to pass legislation making Community College free, or nearly free; Republi-cons blocked Biden’s legislation.

*

My education at Grand Canyon University (1998 – 2000) was the culmination of those nearly five decades of college education.

I attended as a member of the CS-16 class in the Continuing Education Program – an accelerated two-years program leading to the Business Administration Degree.

I achieved Dean’s List for one semester – straight ‘A’ grades while carrying a full-time class load of 15 Semester Credits in addition to my full-time employment with the State of Arizona.

I also completed a few post-graduate courses.

– One course was titled Christianity in Literature; I made a presentation to the class based upon the book ‘Screwtape’, I had the Rolling Stones’ song ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ playing as background music, I got an A for the course.

– Another course was The Shoah Holocaust. We studied German history, the social and political aspects that brought Hitler to power, the era of NAZIs committing Genocide against numerous social groups who didn’t meet Hitler’s White Aryan Christian ideology. We read several First Person accounts of their experiences of the Shoah. One book was from Elie Wiesel. I shared my experience attending the University of Utah course that Wiesel taught; I also shared my personal experiences witnessing both Dachau and Maribor.

I accumulated more than 150 semester credits throughout my post-secondary education.

Our graduation ceremony was May 2000.

University policy prohibited all LGBT from its campus and programs; I attended in total Stealth. I recently read that this Baptist university now welcomes all LGBT among their community.

This Original Post appears to be something similar to a Memories Summary, this specifically is a Summary of some of my education experiences.

Faceplop assigned this Summary to be a ‘Share’ of a Pinewood School post.

A Facebook ‘Memories’ from 37 years ago.

I began spending my weekend hours at the University of Utah Medical School Library to try to learn more.

I apparently became a regular there.

I came upon the opportunity to determine more than I ever expected.

I had to prove that I could keep pace with real medical topics not available to anyone other that practising physicians.  They accepted me as a physician amongst them – they actually called me ‘Doctor’.  My most profound education came the weekend when I attended a hand surgery training session; the instructing physician assigned me to prosect and demonstrate Carpal Tunnel Syndrome to the class, I did so nervously and successfully.  Thank you to the woman who contributed her body to science.

I also completed a teacher certification program (Autumn Quarter 1983).  Elie Wiesel was a guest lecturer.  I remain in awe of him, the opportunity to sit next to him during one session as our group debated the international topics of the day.  I have come to appreciate those months as the years pass.

A Facebook ‘Memories’ from 35 years ago, and more.

I completed numerous college courses in Personnel Management and Business Administration.

One course was held at the nearby Union Hall at the time when Reagan declared his war against American Unions.  This changed our course focus.

I also met the Director of the school’s Cosmetology Department.  I learned many things about the subject that helpt my personal life changes during those years, unbeknownst to him.

‘Pure Evil’: Report On Trump Administration Draining Fund For FDNY’s 9/11 Responders Draws Outrage

TOPLINE A New York Daily News scoop published Thursday revealed that the Trump administration has siphoned around $4 million from the New York City Fire Department’s fund for its September 11 first responders, drawing outrage on the 19th anniversary of the attacks, but the U.S. Treasury says the money was diverted because of “delinquent debt” owed by New York City to the federal government.

KEY FACTS

The funds are part of the FDNY World Trade Center Health Program, which was established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010, a bill passed by Congress that provides healthcare to first responders who have suffered a range of illnesses from exposure to dust and smoke at Ground Zero.

“TRUMP DOESN’T ONLY HATE VETERANS, HE HATES FIRST RESPONDER HEROES,” tweeted actress Debra Messing in reaction to the Daily News report.

Fred Guttenberg, father of Parkland school shooting victim Jamie Guttenberg, said he was “F—KING P—-ED” about the report, because his brother died of cancer from 9/11.

“From the administration whose identity is built on claims of honoring first responders,” Julie Cohen, director of the RBG documentary, wrote on Twitter.

“This doesn’t surprise me at all,” Army veteran and advocate Paul Rieckoff wrote on Twitter. “Trump did NOTHING to push for the extension of #Zadroga last year.”

“We are also working with Congressman King and others to examine any potential authorities to provide relief in this case to support our nation’s 9/11 heroes,” the Treasury spokesperson. told Forbes, but could not provide any examples of how they would do it, and did not have a timeline.

CRUCIAL QUOTE

“Here we have sick World Trade Center-exposed firefighters and EMS workers, at a time when the city is having difficult financial circumstances due to COVID-19, and we’re not getting the money we need to be able to treat these heroes,” FDNY Chief Medical Officer David Prezant told the Daily News.

CHIEF CRITIC

“Pure evil,” tweeted Dr. Dena Grayson, a medical expert who specializes in ebola and other viruses.

STOP!!!

JUST STOP!!!

*

‘Roxana Hernandez, 33, died in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from what appeared to be cardiac arrest. Hernandez was first admitted to a hospital more than a week ago “with symptoms of pneumonia, dehydration, and complications associated with HIV”.

Hernandez surrendered at San Ysidro Port of Entry between San Diego and Tijuana and asked for asylum on May 9, according to Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the immigration-rights group that organized the caravan. The organization said she was held for five days by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a holding cell that is part of a facility many refer to as the “iceboxes” due to its temperature.’

– NBC News

>

‘The 33-year-old woman from Honduras, identified by advocates as Roxana Hernandez, was part of the caravan of Central American migrants that traveled to the U.S. border through Mexico.

Advocates called on U.S. immigration authorities Wednesday to stop holding transgender migrants seeking asylum in detention centers after a transgender woman died while in custody at a facility in New Mexico.

“ICE has shown time and again it is incapable of protecting transgender women in detention,” she said. “Transgender people should not be detained by ICE at all.”‘

– USA Today

>

President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions repeatedly describe undocumented immigrants as criminals and, in Trump’s case, “animals.” Under Trump’s direction anyone coming to America without proper documentation – even those who are here escaping violence – are now unwelcome in many cases, especially if they are traveling from Mexico or Central America.

Hernandez, who died Friday, spoke with Buzzfeed in April. She “said she had fled Honduras in part because of the discrimination and violence she faced for being transgender.”

Months earlier, “Hernandez said, she was walking home when MS-13 gang members started screaming ‘We don’t want you in this neighborhood, you fucking faggot’ at her before gang-raping her.”‘

As much as I would hope that no other member of Our Community fear violence, I suspect that these acts will continue:

– violence committed inside our homes
– violence committed at our places of camaraderie
– violence committed through the judicial system.

I vow to post – expose – these reported acts of anti-LGBT violence to my Facebook page as ‘Public’. Join me. Preaching to the choir gets us nowhere.

These attacks originate through Crooked Drumpf and his plethora of Drumpfians and Deplorables. Posting this as ‘Public’ will expose you Drumpfians and Deplorables:

– you are doing this
– you are committing mass violence, mass murder.

I am calling you out:

– you Drumpfians and Deplorables among my ‘Friend’ list
– you Drumpfians and Deplorables of the public.

You don’t like that I am calling you out? Then do something about it! Prove it! Do something positive to change it.

– same as you exhort Muslims to oppose ‘Islamic Terrorism’
– same as you exhort Christians to oppose ‘Christian Terrorism’ (crickets).

This time, it is you – Drumpfians and Deplorables – your group who are the ‘TERRORISTS’.

*

I know little about hashtagging. Perhaps a member of Our Community – someone somewhere – will hashtag ‘#JUST_STOP!!!’ and ‘#Our_Community’ same as the other issues are recognised.

*

Transgender migrant from Honduras dies in U.S. custody
Roxana Hernandez, 33, was part of the caravan of Central American migrants that arrived at the U.S. border earlier this month. She died in detention on Friday.

A transgender Honduran woman, who was part of the caravan of Central American migrants that arrived at the U.S. border earlier this month, died in detention on Friday.

Roxana Hernandez, 33, died in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at a hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico, from what appeared to be cardiac arrest. Hernandez was first admitted to a hospital more than a week ago “with symptoms of pneumonia, dehydration, and complications associated with HIV,” according to a statement from ICE.

Immigration officials identified the woman as Jeffry Hernandez, but LGBTQ rights advocates and caravan organizers said her name was Roxana.

An ICE spokesman confirmed Tuesday that Hernandez was part of the caravan.

Hernandez surrendered at San Ysidro Port of Entry between San Diego and Tijuana and asked for asylum on May 9, according to Pueblo Sin Fronteras, the immigration-rights group that organized the caravan. The organization said she was held for five days by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in a holding cell that is part of a facility many refer to as the “iceboxes” due to its temperature.

On May 13, Hernandez was transferred into ICE custody in San Diego. Three days later, she was taken to a transgender unit at the Cibola County Corrections Center, a privately owned prison facility for men in New Mexico that contracts with ICE.

The following day, May 17, Hernandez was admitted to a nearby hospital, according to a statement from ICE, and later transferred to Albuquerque’s Lovelace Medical Center where she remained in an intensive care until she died on May 25.

“Roxana traveled over 2,000 miles through Mexican territory on foot, by train, by bus, because her last aspiration and hope was to save her own life,” read a statement released Tuesday night on behalf of Pueblo Sin Fronteras and fellow immigration-rights groups Al Otro Lado and Diversidad Sin Fronteras.

“Roxy died due to medical negligence by U.S. immigration authorities,” the statement continued.

A 2015 report from the American Immigration Council describes the “icebox” holding cells as “inadequate for any overnight detention,” and official CBP policy states detention in these holding cells should last no longer than 72 hours. Hernandez was allegedly held for five days in the facility, which the report also describes as “routinely lacking in adequate food, water, and medical care.”

In a statement announcing Hernandez’s death, U.S. immigration officials said “all ICE detainees receive medical, dental and mental health intake screening within 12 hours of arriving at each detention facility,” along with “access to daily sick call and 24-hour emergency care.”

Hernandez was one of roughly 60 transgender women participating in the migrant caravan. The trans migrants all said they were forced to flee their home countries because of the discrimination and violence they faced for being transgender.

Trans Women a Target in One of World’s Most Dangerous Countries

Alexandra Mejia, a friend of Hernandez also travelling in the caravan, told NBC New she was targeted by gangs in El Salvador because of her transgender identity. When Mejia refused to engage, she said local gang members raped her and killed her father.

Hernandez had previously been deported three times from the U.S. and was set to be deported without seeing an immigration judge, a process known as “expedited removal,” according to ICE.

She had entered the U.S. illegally twice between 2005 and 2009 and was granted voluntary return to Mexico because she claimed Mexican nationality, according to ICE. While in the U.S., Hernandez was convicted of theft in 2006 and lewd, immoral, indecent conduct and prostitution in 2009. ICE said Hernandez entered the U.S. illegally a third time and was deported on March 2014.

Hernandez is the sixth detainee to die in ICE custody since October 2017, according to ICE.

“Paired with the abuse we know transgender people regularly suffer in ICE detention, the death of Ms. Hernández sends the message that transgender people are disposable and do not deserve dignity, safety, or even life,” Isa Noyola, deputy director of the Transgender Law Center, said in a statement.

The Transgender Law Center is demanding ICE adopt and implement a policy around detaining transgender people. The organization has created a Twitter campaign, #JusticeForRoxana, in the hopes of bringing attention to other trans migrants currently being held in detention.

“IT WAS FREEZING … YOU HAD TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR”

NBC News spoke with one of the caravan members, 18-year-old David from Guatemala, who is presently being held at Otay Mesa Detention Facility in San Diego. David declined to share his last name for fear it would negatively impact his chance of asylum.

David described the conditions of the detention facility as inadequate and frightening, noting, “When someone has a pain somewhere, the guards usually tell them to come back tomorrow or wait for medical attention that never comes.”

David said he was taken to Otay Mesa Detention Facility on May 4 along with 12 other members of the caravan, including a transgender woman. Last week, one of the men from the caravan was sent to the “hole” after trying to interpret for another member of the caravan who needed medical attention, David recalled. He said the guards yelled at the translator for being “defiant.”

Prior to his current detention facility, David was held in the so-called “iceboxes.” He said he spent two days in a room with 45 other people that was intended to only hold 25.

“They didn’t let you shower, it was freezing, they didn’t let you brush your teeth, and there were no beds, so you had to sleep on the floor,” he explained.

David said he fled Guatemala with his partner after people in his hometown posted on Facebook that the two were gay. Following the post, David said he and his partner were beaten, including by David’s parents, and had their lives threatened. The two joined up with the caravan on the Guatemalan border with Mexico and stayed together until they were separated at the U.S. border. David’s partner is currently being detained in Chicago.

A Facebook ‘Memories’ from last year, from two years ago, from three years ago.

From a lifetime.

STOP!!!

STOP Murdering Our Community!!!

Reflecting upon the day – prior years, this year, future years.

I began thinking about a message to post to my social media and to my web-site during this election campaign season.  I may not change any minds, or change any votes, but at least I can make my message known now, known frequently.

Get used to it.  I’ll likely use it at some place in whatever are my new posts.

I welcome you and any others of like mind to Share this, or something similar, to their social media and web-site, to make our point known.

Feel free to copy this, if you agree, if you want to spread our message to the American Electorate.

Here following is what I have written.  Here will be my on-going message this election campaign year:

I address my message to you: Republi-cons, Christian Con-servatives, Drumpfians, Deplorables, hangers-on, etc.  This includes Trans and LGBT Republi-cons, Christian Con-servatives, Drumpfians, Deplorables, hangers-on – themselves who are the Cowardly Cohorts.

You show who you are.  I have every reason to believe you as you say you are, accept what you accept as you are, that you do as you do for what you are.

You are the same as any NAZI of the 20th Century. Hitler’s earliest targets for his Final Solution were the Trans Community and the LGBT Community of Germany.

These days in America, you vote Republi-con, you support Crooked Drumpf, you surrender to your Big Lie.

I take this quite personally.  Your ideology today calls for – demands – the extermination of my Trans Community and my LGBTQIA Community – same as Hitler and NAZIs.  You are THE existential threat to my true Friends, to my own well-being and my life.

I hold you accountable for your ideology, responsible for your politics of destruction, answerable for your acts of Hate.

Appeasement to your ideology is never a solution.  You and I might be here in social media as ‘Friends’, or at my web-site, or we are amicable in real life; but you can NEVER truly be amongst my real Friends, whether here in the cyber world or in real life. I can NEVER trust you.

The decision is all yours – whether or not you choose to persist your ideology of Hate, Bigotry, Prejudice.

It’s all yours.  It’s in your hands.

– Sharon

‘The 33-year-old woman from Honduras, identified by advocates as Roxana Hernandez, was part of the caravan of Central American migrants that traveled to the U.S. border through Mexico.

Advocates called on U.S. immigration authorities Wednesday to stop holding transgender migrants seeking asylum in detention centers after a transgender woman died while in custody at a facility in New Mexico.

“ICE has shown time and again it is incapable of protecting transgender women in detention,” she said. “Transgender people should not be detained by ICE at all.”‘

– USA Today

President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions repeatedly describe undocumented immigrants as criminals and, in Trump’s case, “animals.” Under Trump’s direction anyone coming to America without proper documentation – even those who are here escaping violence – are now unwelcome in many cases, especially
if they are traveling from Mexico or Central America.

I know little about hashtagging. Perhaps a member of Our Community – someone somewhere – will hashtag ‘#JUST_STOP!!!’ and ‘#Our_Community’ same as the other issues are recognised.

You –

Republi-cons
Drumpfians
Deplorables.

This is you:

‘If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it, and you will even come to believe it yourself.’

‘When one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.’

‘Repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth. If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.’

‘What does Christianity mean today? National Socialism is a religion. All we lack is a religious genius capable of uprooting outmoded religious practices and putting new ones in their place. We lack traditions and ritual. One day soon National Socialism will be the religion of all Germans. My Party is my church, and I believe I serve the Lord best if I do his will, and liberate my oppressed people from the fetters of slavery. That is my gospel.’

‘How deeply the perverse Jewish spirit has penetrated German cultural life.’

‘We and we alone [the Nazis] have the best social welfare measures. Everything is done for the nation. . . .The Jews are the incarnation of capitalism.’

‘Every age that has historical status is governed by aristocracies. Aristocracy with the meaning – the best are ruling. Peoples do never govern themselves. That lunacy was concocted by liberalism. Behind its “people’s sovereignty” the slyest cheaters are hiding, who don’t want to be recognized.’

‘The Jew is contrary to our being. He desecrated our people, spat on our ideals, paralyzed the strength of the nation, made our customs rotten, and polluted the morale.’

‘In the newspapers there is insulting and stirring up hatred. Those irresponsible daubers! The people are on the streets — rampaging and protesting. The magnates are sitting at the green table and calmly finish their game.’

– Joseph Goebbels, NAZI Propaganda Minister

*

‘Repetition makes things seem more plausible. And the effect is likely more powerful when people are tired or distracted by other information.’

– Lynn Hasher, Psychologist, University of Toronto.

*

Additional quotes that extend Goebbels’ statements to present-day Republi-con ideology:

‘OUR T-party is America’s spiritual revival.’

– Senator Jim DeMint, Republi-con (speech, 23 Apr 10)

‘The T-party is fully-funded by corporations.’

– Pat Buchanan, Republi-con (PBS ‘McLaughlin Group’, 2 Feb 10)

‘Capitalism caused the worst crisis since the Great Depression. Life without prosperity is our new normal.’

– Reverend Pat Robertson, Republi-con (CBN, 14 Dec 09)

‘We’re facing the rabble Communists. We oppose the Constitution. No Jews. The Mexicans must go.’

– J T Ready, Neo-NAZI National Socialist Movement (Phoenix Rally interview, 7 Nov 09)

As Trump continues to spew lies about everything from immigration to his approval ratings, it’s time for the media to stop mincing words. They should report his lies as lies. Here is Trump’s 10-step process for turning lies into near-truths.

STOP!!!

>

>

OUT POLITICS AND POLICY

Transgender migrant from Honduras dies in U.S. custody
Roxana Hernandez, 33, was part of the caravan of Central American migrants that arrived at the U.S. border earlier this month. She died in detention on Friday.

May 30, 2018, 9:48 AM MST / Updated May 30, 2018, 3:05 PM MST
Annie Rose Ramos
